Responsibility and Liability
Starlight Act only as the Agents for the Ground Tour/ Shuttle Operators. Whilst all our/Shuttle Operators are selected with the utmost care, Starlight cannot be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or any other irregularity whatsoever; howsoever caused.
1. Travel Insurance
NB: Please note that a separate insurance needs to be taken out for the coach leg of your tour as the insurance on the cruise only covers you from the moment that you board the cruise ship.
It is essential that all members of your party have adequate Travel Insurance cover for your trip. We can help you with this by offering a competitive policy. We strongly recommend that you take out insurance. If you choose not to purchase our insurance, we will ask you to agree to indemnify Starlight against any losses incurred by you as a result of being inadequately insured. If your cover is insufficient for your needs, you travel at your own risk. Starlight and their transport agents accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property or luggage howsoever arising, including in consequence of the negligence of their servants and contractors.
2. Strict adherence to timing of departures of coach tour
Coach embarkation times will be advised on your ticket; and the onus is on the passenger to ensure that they board in time as the busses will leave strictly according to the scheduled time advised on your ticket. Any missed transfers for any reason whatsoever will not be refunded. This extends to instances where passengers fail to re-embark on the coach on route timeously.
3. Binding to terms and conditions of coach charter company-Avis
The passenger will bind himself/herself to the terms and conditions of Avis who are the coach operators.These terms and conditions are available on request by the passenger.
4. Baggage Procedures
On arrival at the harbour N-shed, security regulations dictate that passengers personally deliver their suitcases to the luggage bay located at the rear of the passenger terminal. "Checked in" luggage must be clearly marked with name and cabin number (using the luggage labels provided in your documentation).
Luggage must be securely locked. In the interest of security it is recommended that all valuable or fragile items are carried in your hand luggage. Checked luggage will be screened and delivered to your cabin 2-3 hours after sailing. Upon disembarkation at Durban harbour after the cruise passengers are to collect their baggage and proceed to the coach, with their baggage to ensure that it is loaded prior to boarding the coach.
5. Payment
For bookings made outside of 60days prior to departure, a non-refundable deposit of R300 per person is required within 72 hours in order to secure the booking, and the balance of payment will be due 60days prior to departure. For departures booked within 60 days of departure, full payment must be made within 48hours. Cancellations within 60 day period incur 100% cancellation fees.Starlight does not accept debit / credit card payments.
6. Cancellation by Company
Should the Company deem it necessary to cancel any coach transfer at any time, in whole or in part, its liability shall be limited in its’ absolute discretion to refunding that part of the fare pertaining to that part of the transfer cancelled, or transferring passengers to another similar, but necessarily identical transfer.
7. Refunds and Unused Services
No refunds will be made for no-shows, or any unused pre-paid services. 100% cancellation penalties will apply for cancellations falling within the 60 day period prior to departure.
8. Transfer of Tours
Tours are pre-planned and pre-booked and therefore no deviations within 60 day period to travel will be allowed.
