Barra Lodge

Barra Lodge !On the Mainland coast of Mozambique, Barra Lodge is a top holiday destination. Maputo

Maputo !Formerly the Portuguese city of Lourenco Marques, Maputo is the capital of Mozambique.

Situated on the shores of the Indian Ocean the city has various points of interest including the Casa do Ferro [House of Iron] designed by Alexandre Eiffel, who originally erected the famous Parisian Eiffel Tower.

Maputo is know for its prawn seafood fare, and the hot African chilli pepper sauce - Peri Peri.

Portuguese Island

Portuguese Island !The island is an uninhabited nature reserve with pristine beaches, dense vegetation, pleasant lagoons and small patches of mangrove. The Islands are located next to the larger Inhaca Island, a Royal Kingdom. A short optional transfer to the neighbouring Island of Inhaca allows you to visit a local village, bars, restaurants and souvenir merchants. A Beach BBQ is offered on Portuguese Island, weather dependent.

Port Louis

Portuguese Island !Port Louis is the Capital of Mauritius and is the largest city of the country, serving as a main port. It lies on the Indian Ocean and was founded by the French in 1735.

The port offers many attractions including historic and colonial buildings, the waterfront, the famous Port Louis Moka mountains which surround it, and the ever favourite derby "Champ de Mars". Port

Louis is the busiest city of the country and hosts bustling streets with the Kadafi square in the main town offering many restaurants where you can sample the local flavours. The Place d'Armes is an easily recognizable landmark with its tall palm trees serving as the official entrance in and out of Port Louis.

Tulear

Portuguese Island !'Toliara' is Madagascar's most recently established provincial capital, and is commonly referred to Tulear. As a port town it acts as a major import/export hub for commodities such as sisal, soap, hemp, cotton, rice, and peanuts.

Tulear offers numerous attractions including great beaches, diving and snorkelling, surfing, kite surfing and wild surfing

Port D'Ehoala

Portuguese Island !Port D'EHoala is the newest port of Fort Dauphin, which is located on the southern coast of Madagascar. The Charming town has beautiful bay and is well geared toward tourism.


Walvis Bay

Portuguese Island !Walvis Bay is a city in Namibia and the name of the bay on which it lies. The bay has a natural deep water harbor and is protected by the pelican point thus being and ideal port for ships. The succession of colonists has over the years assisted in developing the bay into the current harbour settlement.

A bustling city surrounded by dunes, popular tourism attractions include the artificial Bird Island, the Dune 7 sand dune, salt works, extensive birdlife and the Kuisebmund Stadium. The beach resort of Langstrand lies just a few km north.

Mossel Bay

Portuguese Island !Situated in the Western Cape, Mossel bay forms part of the renowned Garden Route and is a mere 4 hours from Cape Town.

The bay has pristine beaches with a climate comparable to Hawaii. The Mozambique current brings warm waters ideal for swimming and sailing Main economic activities include agriculture, fishing, light industry and tourism.

Nosy Be

Portuguese Island !Nosy Be is a volcanic island located off the northwest coast of Madagascar and is Madagascar's largest and busiest tourist resort.

The island is about 8 Km's from the coast of Madagascar in the Mozambique Channel and is one of various other islands including Nosy Komba, Nosy Mitsio and Nosy Sakatia.

Volcanic activity has not been recorded on the island in recent history.

Reunion

Portuguese Island !Reunion is situated east of Madagascar, and 200 Km's south west of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, and is an overseas department of France with the same status awarded as the European mainland.

Deep blue ocean, sandy beaches, clear waters, lush vegetation and huge forests dotted with fish filled rivers create an exotic island paradise for visitors.

The island covers 2521 square metres and, together with Hawaii is one of the few Islands located above a Hotspot in the earths crust. Volcanoes on the island are active and constantly monitored.

Port Elizabeth

Portuguese Island !One of the best known Eastern Cape Towns, PE is aptly named "the friendly city". The city is the second oldest in South Africa and is the commercial capital of the Eastern Cape.

Great weather, sandy beaches and the recently upgraded waterfront and city centre comprise PE's charm and attractions.

Jamestown

Portuguese Island !The capital of the island St Helena, Jamestown is located on the Islands north western coast and serves as the Islands main port.

The town itself is built on igneous rock in a small enclave, and is sandwiched between steep cliffs. As a result Jamestown is long thin and densely populated. Its tightly knit long and winding streets make for interesting discovery.

The most prominent tourist attraction is that of Jacobs's ladder, a staircase of 699 steps originally built in 1829 to connect Jamestown to the former fort on Ladder Hill.

Dakar

Portuguese Island !Dakar is the capital of Senegal, on the Cape Verde Peninsula in Western Africa, bounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It is Senegal's largest city and is the main departure point of Trans Atlantic trade.

Beautiful landscapes allow Dakar to offer tranquil holiday settings. Additional attractions include the Ifan museum as well as the Maison des Esclaves.

Arrecife de Lanzarote

Portuguese Island !Arrectife is a port city on Spain's Canary Islands. It is situated in the centre-east of the island of Lanzarote of which it has been the capital since 1852.

Arrecife is a laid back sprawl of commerce, restaurants and tapas bars, with one controversial high rise, The Gran hotel. Interesting attractions include El Charco de San Gines, a salt-water lagoon in the city centre surrounded by fishermen's houses and the Castles of San Jose and San Gabriel, home to the international Museum of Modern Art, and the Archaeological Museum respectively.
